The job search has been slower than I expected, so instead of only sending more applications, I started building things people can actually see: a multi-tenant SaaS, a homelab, my own MCP server and more. Here's what I've built, what it's taught me, and why I'm going to keep doing it.
How I turned a Minisforum MS-A2 mini PC into a 24/7 Proxmox homelab: the BIOS settings that matter, the install, the networking mistakes I avoided, and how I split 32 GB of RAM across production, testing and misc VMs.
My homelab sits behind a normal home internet connection with no static IP and no open ports. Tailscale gives me private access from anywhere, and Cloudflare Tunnel puts apps on the internet. Here's how the magic actually works, and why it's more secure than port forwarding.
I used to deploy my .NET apps by hand: publish locally, SSH into the server, back up, copy files, hope nothing was missing. Then I wrote my first GitHub Actions workflow. Here's what changed.
From pressing F5 in Visual Studio to local IIS, free shared hosting, a Hostinger VPS and finally a Proxmox homelab with separate prod, test and misc VMs. What each step taught me about shipping software.
